Are Miniature Pigs Affectionate? Signs They Like You
Miniature pigs are indeed affectionate. Once they trust and acknowledge you, they'll enjoy sticking close, sleeping by your side, and following you everywhere. If your mini pig exhibits these behaviors, it's a clear sign they have a strong affection for you.

When we think of pigs, some might picture a messy creature wallowing in mud, drooling, and covered in filth. However, miniature pigs are quite different. They are not the lazy and dirty creatures of the past but are intelligent, adorable, and clean. They are smart and emotional animals. They form close bonds with their owners.
Three Signs a Miniature Pig Likes You
Here are some ways your miniature pig may show its affection:
1. Sticking Close to You
Miniature pigs are highly intelligent and become more intuitive the more time they spend with humans. Scientific studies have shown that pigs’ organs are remarkably similar to those of humans, making them exceptionally adept at understanding our emotions. A mini pig’s intellect is comparable to that of a human child aged two to three. When they like you, they will stick close, follow you around, and look for you if they cannot see you. Even when eating their favorite food, they'll look up to check if their owner is nearby.
2. Sleeping Near Their Owner
Miniature pigs are known to be timid and cautious, often avoiding unfamiliar people and objects. However, once they've grown fond of you, they'll completely trust you. They love to sleep by their owner's side, especially during the colder months. The owner’s body warmth makes them feel comfortable and safe, and their soft bodies in return provide warmth as well, making it tempting to cuddle them. This is a testament to their affection and sense of security they feel with their loved ones.
3. Pawing at Their Owner's Legs
Miniature pigs, much like cats and dogs, will playfully paw at your legs when they are affectionate. They enjoy wandering around your feet, gently pawing at your legs with their front feet. It is a way of them showering you with affection, wanting your attention, or even trying to get a treat. Their adorable behavior makes it hard not to fall in love with them. Always be mindful of your steps, as these small creatures can easily be injured. Mini pigs tend to hold grudges so you must be gentle with them.Follow us for updates:Pet Training
