When selecting fish oil for your feline friend, prioritize products that are highly palatable, have a high concentration of fish oil, and are resistant to oxidation. 1. The omega-3 fatty acids in fish oil are unstable and prone to oxidation when exposed to light or air. Therefore, it's best to choose fish oil in opaque packaging and in capsule form. Many pet fish oils come in pump bottles, which are not recommended due to increased exposure. This exposure can diminish the effectiveness of the oil.
