Does Revolution (Stronghold) Treat Tapeworms in Dogs?

Revolution (also known as Stronghold in some regions) is effective at eliminating external parasites on dogs but is not designed to kill tapeworms. To deworm your dog internally, medications containing praziquantel, pyrantel, febantel, or ivermectin are typically used. Revolution is considered a relatively gentle and safe broad-spectrum parasiticide. It is effective against fleas, sarcoptic mange mites, ear mites, roundworms, hookworms, and heartworms. However, it has limited effectiveness against parasite eggs, larvae, and ticks. Also, while generally well-tolerated in dogs, Revolution can sometimes cause side effects in cats, such as diarrhea, vomiting, and hair loss.
