What are the "Alien" Cat Breeds and How Much Do They Cost?

Cat breeds that resemble aliens include the Sphynx cat and the Devon Rex, with prices ranging from around $400 to $3000 USD.

1. Sphynx Cat

The Sphynx cat, often called the "smartest cat", is known for its high intelligence and ability to entertain its owners, making them relatively easy to care for. Sphynx cats are also very docile and affectionate. Unlike some cat breeds, they are not aloof and enjoy being near their owners. Although their appearance might make them look like aliens, they are truly loving and cuddly pets. These cats, with their unique looks, have become increasingly popular among those seeking an unusual companion. The breed's lack of fur means they require specific care, like regular baths and protection from the sun and cold.

2. Devon Rex

A newer breed on the pet market is the Devon Rex. This breed is said to be the inspiration behind the alien in the American film "E.T." The Devon Rex, sometimes called the Devon Rex Imperial cat, originated in Devonshire, England, in 1960. They are the second curly-coated breed to appear after the Cornish Rex and are the result of a genetic mutation, but without associated genetic defects. Devon Rex cats are medium-sized, weighing around 6.6 to 9.2 pounds. They have a distinctive inverted triangle-shaped head, large expressive eyes in yellow, blue, or odd-eyed variations, and large, pointed ears that give them a sprite-like appearance. Their playful and affectionate personalities make them delightful pets for families and individuals alike. Their curly coats are also hypoallergenic making them a great choice for people with allergies.Explore more:Pet Knowledge
