Can Dogs Eat Green Plums? Understanding the Risks
Green plums are not safe for dogs and should not be given to them. It's crucial to prioritize your dog's well-being by avoiding this fruit.
One of the major concerns with green plums is their large pit. If a dog swallows a plum whole, or even just the pit, it can lead to a dangerous esophageal obstruction. This blockage can make it extremely difficult for your dog to eat and can even impede their ability to breathe properly. Moreover, unripe or mature green plums contain toxic compounds that are harmful to dogs. Ingestion of these can lead to symptoms like seizures and foaming at the mouth. The plum pit also contains toxic substances, making it another reason why this fruit is completely unsuitable for canine consumption.
