With patience and consistency, owners can successfully train their British Shorthairs.

When preparing their meals, use their name and provide a food reward when they come to you. After several repetitions, they will begin to recognize the name and respond accordingly. You can also introduce basic tricks, such as shaking hands. Start by physically guiding the cat's paw to perform the desired movement and reward them with a treat. This helps them associate the action with a positive outcome. Over time, they will start to perform the action based on your cue.
